What is the Rice Purity Test?
The Rice Purity Test is a 100-question survey that has been around since the 1980s, originally created by students at Rice University in Houston, Texas. It was designed as a lighthearted way for incoming freshmen to open up and bond with each other during orientation week by answering questions about their past experiences.
The test covers a wide range of topics from romantic encounters and physical intimacy to alcohol and drug use, brushes with the law, and more. Each question is a simple "have you ever" prompt. You check off everything that applies to you, and your final score reflects how many boxes you did not check. The higher your score, the more "pure" you are considered to be.
MPS throughout the test stands for "Member of the Preferred Sex," meaning whoever you are attracted to romantically or sexually.
Caution: This test is not a bucket list. It is purely for fun and self-reflection. Completion of all items on this test would be extremely dangerous and is not encouraged in any way.
